India's modern-day cricketing great Rohit Sharma turned 33 on Thursday. The limited-overs vice-captain celebrated his birthday with wife Ritika and daughter Samaira, locked up in his Mumbai residence.

Former and current cricketers poured in wishes for team India's wonder kid who has now become a legend. The India star opener is an asset to Indian cricket and has been in top form since World Cup 2019.

Rohit Sharma became the first and the only batsman in the world to score four T20I centuries. The stalwart is also one of the most successful captains of IPL, all seasons combined. The hard-hitting opener has given fans joy over the years.

On Rohit's birthday, let us revisit one of his record-breaking fiery innings as he smashed Vivian Richards' record to become the highest individual scorer against Australia in Australia.

Rohit Sharma posted his highest score on Australia soil with 171 not out at the WACA in 2016, which was the highest ODI score by a touring batsman against Australia at the time.

However, Rohit Sharma's heroic knock went in vain, thanks to hundreds from skipper Steve Smith (149) and George Bailey (112), Australia concurred the difficult 310-run chase and beat India by five wickets.

"Rohit is the only player to have recorded more than one ODI double century, having passed the 200-mark on three separate occasions. His 264 against Sri Lanka in November 2014 gives him the record for highest individual score in the format, comfortably ahead of second-placed Martin Guptill, who scored 237 not out against West Indies during the 2015 World Cup," ICC said in a tribute to Rohit's ODI dominance in numbers.
