A stellar performance from talisman Lionel Messi who scored three goals saw FC Barcelona defeating Deportivo La Coruna 4-2 to win the La Liga with four games remaining.


Barca opened the scoring in the 7th minute of the game with Philippe Coutinho with an exquisite finish which gave the keeper Ruben Martinez no chance.

Deportivo looked very dangerous and almost equalized as Lucas Perez was found offside. Barca then increased their lead with Lionel Messi scoring with a volley in the 38th minute.

Branquiazuis finally scored a goal in the 40th minute to reduce the deficit to a single goal when Lucas Perez came up with an amazing finish.

They equalized in the 64th minute with Emre Colak scoring the goal. Everything looked quite stable as the game was in the balance as both the teams were coming up with attacks.

But Barca always have the magician on their side and this time also his magic was enough for Barca to take all the points. Messi scored two goals in the last 10 minutes.

In the 82nd minute, Messi scored with a simple tap-in with the Argentinean being teed up by his Uruguay teammate Suarez.

Similarly, in the 85th minute, an amazing finish from the maestro ensured that Deportivo do not fight back.

Barcelona this season have been amazing in the La Liga this season as they are the only team which is unbeaten in the league 26 wins and 8 draws.

This win ensured that the Catalan side won their 7th title in 10 years which tells us how dominant Barca have been over the years in La Liga. This La Liga trophy took their total to 25 La Ligas in the club history only bettered by arch-rivals Real who have 33 La Liga trophies.

Barca have 4 games remaining and the next match will be an acid test for Barca's unbeaten run as they face defending champs Real Madrid.
