Avesh Khan will join the Indian team: Delhi Capitals pacer Avesh Khan has been rewarded for his brilliant bowling during the 14th season of the Indian Premier League. The BCCI has asked the 24-year-old bowler to join Team India's T20 World Cup squad. Avesh would continue to stay in the UAE after the IPL and would be a part of Team India during T20 World Cup. 


The T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on October 17 in UAE and Oman. India would be beginning its campaign in the T20 World Cup by playing against Pakistan on October 24. Avesh is the second fast bowler to join the team after Jammu and Kashmir pacer Umaran Malik. 


A source said to be close to the BCCI selection committee told PTI on Tuesday, "The national selectors have also decided to in Avesh in the team. He would now be a part of the team as a net bowler, but would be included in the Playing 11 if the management decides to do so."


Avesh had taken 23 wickets during IPL 14:


As a fast bowler, Avesh has taken 23 wickets for Delhi Capitals in the current IPL season so far. Delhi Capitals is scheduled to take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the second qualifier match on Wednesday. He is second in the list of highest wicket-takers with Harshal Patel leading the charts with 32 wickets. According to a source, Avesh bowls at an average speed of 142 to 145 kmph, achieves a better bounce on flat pitches and has been under the eye of selectors for some time now. 


Avesh had also accompanied the Indian Test team to England as a standby, but had to return home midway when he received a fracture in his finger during India's practice match against the county joint team.
