Ashwin's childhood coach Sunil Subramanian appointed as administrative manager of Team India
New Delhi [India], July 28 (ANI): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday appointed former Tamil Nadu left-arm spinner Sunil Subramanian as the administrative manager of Indian men's cricket team.
He will be contracted for a one-year term and join the Indian team in Sri Lanka before the start of second Test in Colombo.
Subramanian has 285 wickets to his name from 74 matches in First Class cricket. He captained Tamil Nadu in Ranji Trophy and is a National Cricket Academy (NCA) certified coach.
He also has a rich vein of experience when it comes to management and administrative capabilities having served both public and private sector organisations for over 16 years.
Besides this, he is best known as ace Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin's childhood coach.
The BCCI had on Tuesday conducted interviews of 12 candidates for the post.
Out of the 12, BCCI had shortlisted five candidates whose resumes were then sent to BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary and Cricket of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai for their views. (ANI)
