The Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen a notable 28% rise in its brand value following the 2023 season, reaching a substantial figure of $10.7 billion (around Rs 89,290 crore). Since its inception in 2008, the renowned cricket league has witnessed an astounding 433% surge in its brand value. As per the most recent report from Brand Finance, Mumbai Indians, under the ownership of Reliance Industries, hold the distinction of being the IPL's most valuable franchise brand, boasting a valuation of $87 million. Gujarat Titans have emerged as the most significant gainer in terms of brand value, rising from the 8th position last year to the 5th position this year. Notably, its brand value surged by 38% this year, reaching $65.4 million. Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG), securing the 9th position with a brand value of $47 million, stands out as the fastest-growing IPL brand, experiencing an impressive 48% growth. Franchises like Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Punjab Kings are steadily developing their brand value, currently positioned at 6th, 7th, 8th, and 10th ranks, respectively, within the IPL Brand Value standings. The report also highlighted that Jio Cinema's provision of free access, available to telecom users across various devices and spanning over 15 regional languages, has notably bolstered the IPL viewership market.
