Big Setback For Lucknow Super Giants! Star All-Rounder To Miss Initial Phase Of IPL 2024

As per reports, the England star will miss the initial phase of Indian Premier League due to 'personal reasons'.

Willey was part of Multan Sultans who ended up as runners-up in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 season and had earlier represented Abu Dhabi Knights in ILT20 2024.

David Willey, who featured for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous two editions of the IPL, has found a new home in the auction for IPL 2024.

Lucknow Super Giants secured David Willey's services for Rs 2 crore, adding the seasoned all-rounder to their roster for the upcoming IPL 2024 season.

Lucknow Super Giants faced an early setback as England fast bowler Mark Wood was ruled out of the entire IPL 2024 season due to undisclosed reasons. To fill the void left by Wood's absence, the team included West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph in their squad. 

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to participate in their third IPL season. Under KL Rahul's captaincy, LSG has achieved the remarkable feat of reaching the playoffs twice in a row.
