IPL 2023: Ravichandran Ashwin Scripts History, Becomes 2nd Indian Bowler To Join Elite List Alongside Yuzvendra Chahal

Defending 212 for the win, every RR bowler conceded over 10 runs per over but veteran Ravichandran Ashwin (2/27) stood apart by giving away only 27 runs in his four overs.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of bowlers for Rajasthan Royals but his bowling heroics went in vain as RR lost against five-time champions.

However, Ashwin, playing his 305th T20 match, created history by dismissing two Mumbai Indians batters, becoming the second Indian bowler to take 300 or more wickets in T20Is.

Ashwin's RR teammate Yuzvendra Chahal tops the list with 311 wickets from 273 T20 appearances.

Ashwin also equaled Lasith Malinga (170 wickets in 122 IPL matches) to become the third-joint-leading wicket-taker in IPL history.

Ex-CSK star Dwayne Bravo is the leading wicket-taker in IPL history with 183 wickets from 161 matches, followed by Chahal (178 wickets in 140 IPL matches).
