NZ's Tim Southee surpassed legendary pacer Dale Steyn in the elite list and also became the first Kiwi bowler to take 700 wickets in international cricket.

Southee, who was already NZ's highest-wicket taker, has 356* Test wickets in 92 Tests and 210 wickets in 154 ODIs.

Southee recently surpassed Daniel Vettori (696 international wickets) to become the leading wicket-taker in international cricket for New Zealand.

If 34-year-old Tim Southee plays international cricket for 4-5 years more, he might be able to take 850-900 wickets in international cricket.

Overall, Southee is the 15th-highest wicket-taker in international cricket. Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralidaran (1,347 wickets) tops the elite list.
