Eng vs NZ, 1st Test: Rory Burns' Gutsy Ton Rescues England, Equals 70-Year-Old Record

Opener Rory Burns played a brilliant innings of 132 runs to drag England to 275 after they found themselves 140-6 at one point in the game. It is the first time in 70 years that the openers of both the teams have batted till the end of an innings. Earlier this happened during the Australia-England match in 1951. In this Test match in Adelaide, Australian opener Arthur Morris was dismissed as the last wicket, while Len Hutton scored an unbeaten 156 for England. Australia won this match by 274 runs. Skipper Joe Root (42) and Burns (59) started the fourth day's play with England at 111-2. Not a single ball was bowled due to rain on the third day of the match.  So when the fourth day's play started, Kiwi bowlers took full advantage of the pitch.
