Surrey set to replace Kohli with former Pakistan captain

Not only Kohli was eyeing game time with Surrey to make himself ready for the five-match Test series in England in August, Surrey were also looking forward to acquire the services of the Indian captain.
With time running out and very little options to choose from, Surrey has all but confirmed Kohli’s replacement.
Apart from Azhar, another Pakistan batsman Ashad Shafiq is also in line to bag a county contract with Somerset.
Former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali is in line to be Kohli’s replacement. Ali is currently is England, fresh from a two-match Test series.
Kohli was scheduled to play for Surrey for the entire month of June, taking part in three four day matches and three Royal London Cup One-Day matches in his bid to prepare for the English summer.
However, a neck injury suffered during the IPL ruled him out of the County stint, leaving Surrey in a spot of bother.
Indian captain Virat Kohli’s loss is set to be Pakistan’s biggest gain as their format captain is in line to replace Kohli in the English County side Surrey.
