Shubman Gill Registers 'Unwanted Record' in IND vs AUS ODI World Cup 2023 Final

During the ICC World Cup 2023 Final between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, star Indian batsman Shubman Gill entered an unfortunate list, joining the ranks of Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, and Virender Sehwag.

Each of the aforementioned cricket legends scored single-digit runs in their respective ODI World Cup finals, and the young batsman, Shubman Gill, mirrored this trend by registering a mere 4 runs in IND vs AUS ODI World Cup final match.

In each of the four ODI World Cup finals that India have participated in, significant Indian batters have consistently stumbled, recording only single-digit scores.

In the 1983 World Cup, Sunil Gavaskar scored 2 runs, while Sachin Tendulkar managed 4 runs during the 2003 World Cup. Additionally, Virender Sehwag was dismissed without scoring any runs, securing a duck in the 2011 World Cup final.

Coming to IND vs AUS WC Final match, India made a promising start in the first 15 overs despite losing three crucial wickets. However, their innings took a downturn as both batsmen, after securing their respective fifties, fell victim to poor shot selections.
