Rohit Sharma's tally of 86 sixes against Australia in the ODI format surpasses Chris Gayle's previous record of 85 sixes against England.
Following Rohit and Gayle is ex-Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, renowned for hitting 63 sixes against Sri Lanka. Behind Afridi stands former Sri Lanka opener Sanath Jayasuriya, who hammered 53 maximums against Pakistan in ODIs.
Rohit Sharma also achieved the feat of becoming the highest-scoring captain in a single World Cup edition, amassing 594 runs during the ODI World Cup 2023, surpassing New Zealand's Kane Williamson. Williamson had previously scored 578 runs in the 2019 World Cup.
Rohit Sharma also achieved a milestone by becoming the second Indian player, following Sachin Tendulkar, to amass over 500 runs in consecutive ODI World Cups.
