Babar Azam-led Pakistan's disappointing campaign in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 faced a major setback as they struggled to confirm a berth in ICC Cricket World Cup semifinal.

2

ICC penalised Pakistan for a slow over-rate in PAK vs SA WC match in Chennai on Friday (October 28). Pakistan were found to be four overs behind the allotted pace.

3

ICC fined Pakistan 20 percent of their match fee; means that Pakistan players will incur a 5 % match fee penalty for each over not bowled within the stipulated time.

4

The charges were issued by umpires following Pakistan's defeat against South Africa. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam accepted the sanction.

5

Pakistan have so far won just two out of six matches in ODI World Cup 2023.

6

Pakistan need to win their remaining three WC matches and that too by a big margin to remain alive in the race to ODI World Cup 2023 semifinal.
