Ngidi rejoins CSK squad

Chennai Super Kings had bought Ngidi at his base price (50 lakh) during the IPL players auction in January this year.

The 24-year-old is expected to remain out of action for the next two weeks.

However, Chennai Super Kings have received a massive boost just before their crucial encounter against resurgent Delhi Daredevils.

South Africa speed machine Lungi Ngidi has re-joined the CSK squad after flying back from South Africa.

The 19-year-old had flown back home following his father’s death.

He is has not played a game yet for the MS Dhoni-led side but soon could be seen making a debut.

They have won 5 out of 7 encounters so far this season.

But, the Chennai based outfit slumped to defeat against struggling Mumbai Indians in Pune

And, adding more to their woes was an injury to regular pacer Deepak Chahar.

Chahar pulled up a hamstring during his third over and did not return back to field during Chennai’s defense 170 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium.

Chennai Super Kings have been one of the most consistent sides in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League.
