IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023: Best Of India-Pakistan Cricket Rivalry

Let's recall best of India-Pakistan rivalry. Sharjah, 1985. India made only 125 runs in the Rothmans Four-Nation Cup ODI opener in Sharjah. However, it proved to be enough against arch-rivals Pakistan as Kapil Dev took three for 17 and India bowled out Pakistan 87 runs. (Image Source: Getty)

During India-Pakistan's first-ever World Cup face off, Kiran More and Javed Miandad had a few verbal exchanges and Miandad famously started jumping off in the middle of the pitch. Eventually though India went on to win the match by 43 runs.

In 2010, arch-rivals India and Pakistan clashed in a fiery encounter in Asia Cup. Amidst the tension, it was Harbhajan Singh's heroic six in the last over off Amir after a face off with Shoaib Akhtar that stole the show and secured India's triumph.

India's T20 World Cup 2007 was also a classic encounter. Misbah ul Haq nearly sealed a win for Pakistan but near the finish line tried to play the slog off Joginder Sharma but couldn't clear Sreesanth at fine leg.

Sachin Tendulkar played that epic shot off Shoaib Akhtar in the 2003 World Cup fixture against Pakistan. India needed 274 to win but Tendulkar's 98 set the foundation for an easy chase in the end against a star-studded Pakistani pace attack

Venkatesh Prasad had a verbal spat with Aamir Sohail during a 1996 World Cup face off between India and Pakistan. Sohail scored a boundary and signalled Prasad to fetch the ball. The bowler bowled him next ball as India went on to win the match. (Image Credit: Twitter/BCCI/ICC)
