If Pandya is unable to take any further in this match then India will have trust Kedar Jadhav to complete his quota.

Pakistan lost their openers to Bhuvneshwar Kumar for only three on board after opting to bat first.

While the exact injury to Pandya is not yet confirmed but initial reports suggest Pandya has an acute lower back injury. He is able to stand at the moment and the medical team is assessing him now.

The incident occurred in the 17th over of the Pakistan innings when Pandya running in to bowl the fifth ball of the over suddenly collapsed in his follow-through.

An untoward on-field incident raised concerns during the India vs Pakistan Group A match in Dubai.

India would be hoping that the injury to Pandya is not serious because he was certain to bowl his full quota of 10 overs. Pandya had given away only 24 runs in 4.5 overs.

A stretcher was called to carry Pandya off the field and the over was completed by Ambati Rayudu.
