Ageless Jaffer also became the first Indian and first from Asia over 40 years of age to register a 250+ in a first-class innings.
Aged 40, the veteran crossed the 18000-run mark in domestic cricket becoming the sixth batsman to achieve the rare feat.
Sunil Gavaskar (25834), Sachin Tendulkar (25396), Rahul Dravid (23794), VVS Laxman (19730), Vijay Hazare (18740) are the only players who have more runs than Jaffer in first class cricket.
Jaffer also surpassed Murli Vijay’s (266) highest score in Irani Cup which he scored against Rajasthan in 2012-13 season
