Shortly before his official retirement from Test cricket, David Warner revealed that the most challenging bowler he had ever faced was the South African pace maestro, Dale Steyn.
Talking to Cricket.com.au, Warner said, “Without doubt it’s Dale Steyn.”
He (Dale Steyn) is a fierce competitor who swung the ball back into the left-hander, which is similar to Mitchell Starc swinging the ball back into the right-hander at pace. He was always a fiery customer who never gave you a smile and never gave you an inch or a sniff on the field,” Warner added.
David Warner has retired from 50-overs format but has hinted about a possible return, especially with an eye on participating in the Champions Trophy.“I know there’s a Champions Trophy coming up and if I’m playing decent cricket still in two years’ time and they need someone, I’m going to be available,” Warner said.
