Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been absent from the Indian national team since the 2022 T20 World Cup, having not played in Test matches since January 2018 and ODI or T20I matches since January and November 2022, respectively.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who impressed with 16 wickets in seven matches for Uttar Pradesh during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, is expected to lead the pace attack for the team, alongside promising young bowlers like Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan if he makes a comeback.
Yuzvendra Chahal is also expected to return to the T20I team, and there's uncertainty about the team's captaincy for the series.
Hardik Pandya is sidelined from the World Cup due to an ankle injury, while Rohit Sharma is likely to be rested.
