The batting pair of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli became the fastest pair in international cricket to score 5,000 runs in ODIs.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma batting pair surpassed Windies legends Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes in the process. West Indies' Greenidge and Desmond Haynes took 97 innings to score 5,000 runs in ODIs as a batting pair.

Even among Indian batting pairs, Kohli and Rohit were the faster than all of them (86 innings) to score 5,000 ODI runs as a batting pair. Apart from Kohli-Rohit, the pair of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly have also reached the milestone.

Together, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma Kohli have combined 18 century partnerships and 15 half-centuries together, aggregating an average of 62.47.

Earlier in the ongoing Ind vs SL Asia Cup 2023 match, Rohit became the second-fastest Indian batter to complete 10,000 runs in ODIs, with Kohli being the fastest.
