PM Modi then visited the Peace Memorial Park and Museum paid floral tributes at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum built in memory of those who died in a US atomic bomb attack on this Japanese city in 1945 at the end of World War II. Notably, PM Modi wore a jacket made of recycled material at the G7 summit in Japan today.

The memorial is dedicated to the legacy of Hiroshima as the first city in the world to suffer a nuclear attack at the end of World War II when the US conducted the world's first nuclear attack on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, destroying the city and killing some 140,000 people.
