A total of 15 Vande Bharat Express trains are operating in the country today, and the numbers will increase after the launch of New Jalpaiguri to Guwahati Vande Bharat Train soon in the Northeast.

Northeast will soon get its first Vande Bharat Express train. The train (Up-22227-Down-22228) will run between New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal to Guwahati six days a week, covering around 410 km within 6 hours. (Source: ANI)

After the launch, Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said last Thursday that PM Modi aims to make Vande Bharat accessible in almost all the states by June this year, as reported by news agency ANI. He also added that PM Modi is building a strong foundation for a brighter future. (Source: PTI)

While speaking to ANI, Vaishnaw also said, "Vande Bharat is being designed for a distance of less than 100 km and for daily travel of passengers." (Source: PTI)

In 2019, India got its semi-high-speed train, which was known as Train 18 earlier. It was later named as Vande Bharat Express.
