They attempted to march towards the embassy while yelling anti-Chinese chants, including "hardline policies" and "illegal occupation of Tibet." A number of them were arrested and taken to Mandir Marg police station, PTI reported. (Image Source: AFP)

As a precaution, the Delhi Police set up barricades about 2 kilometres from the embassy and imposed Section 144 of the CrPC, which forbids gatherings of four or more individuals, in the vicinity, as per the report. (Image Source: AFP)

In a statement, the Tibetan Youth Congress offered tribute to his holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and extended heartfelt sympathy to all Tibetan martyrs who had "sacrificed their lives in the restoration of the Tibetan freedom resistance against the Chinese Communist Regime". (Image Source: AFP)

"In 1949, when the red Chinese army had invaded Tibet and contrived a dreadful insecurity threat to the 14th Dalai Lama, the entire Tibetan situation was rushed to a catastrophic stage on the 10th March 1959," the statement said. (Image Source: AFP)

"As a result, Tibetans from all three traditional Tibetan regions stood united, accepted full responsibility, and rejected Chinese military retribution and their subjugated allegation over Tibet," it said. (Image Source: AFP)

"Since Tibet was gobbled up by the Chinese Communist Regime and under its oppressive political systems, Tibet has faced tremendous challenges, including expropriation of Tibetan religious centres, detention of Tibetan intellectuals, the killing of a prominent Tibetan scholar, and exploitation of Tibetan environmental ecosystems," the statement added.
