With protesters not budging from the spot, Delhi Police detained several people, including political party workers, for blocking the bulldozers in the Shaheen Bagh area. Shaheen Bagh was epicentre of protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act in December 2019 (Image Source: PTI)

A JCB bulldozer and around 2-3 trucks reached the spot to collect the debris that may accumulate after the demolition. SDMC's central zone chairman Rajpal Singh said that removal of encroachment was an obligatory function that they are carrying out. (Image Source: PTI)
Later, the illegal encroachment, an iron structure in front of a building, was manually removed by people even as a JCB bulldozer stood by during the proposed demolition drive in the Shaheen Bagh.
