View In AppHe landed at the Joint Base Andrews in Washington, DC at 3:30 am Indian Standard Time on Thursday.
He was received at the airport by senior officials of the Biden Administration and India's Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
Modi, who is visiting the US for the 7th time after assuming office in 2014, said his visit would be an occasion to strengthen the Indo-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and consolidate ties with Japan and Australia.
Despite heavy rains since early in the morning, a significant number of Indian Americans were also there at the Andrews Joint Airforce Base to welcome the Prime Minister.
His first interaction will be with the Vice President of the United States of America, Kamala Harris, with whom he has only had virtual interactions after she took office.
After which, he will have a one-on-one meeting with the CEOs of five different companies including Tim Cook of Apple.
rime Minister Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Morrison and Prime Minister Suga ahead of the Quad Summit and take stock of the strong bilateral relations.
Modi will conclude his visit with an address at the 76th session UN General Assembly on Saturday
