At least eight people were killed and over 70 others went missing after a massive landslide occurred at a railway construction site in Manipur's Noney district. The incident took place at Tupul yard railway construction camp on Wednesday night. (Image: PTI)

Eight bodies have been retrieved so far, including those of seven Territorial Army personnel. As many as 72 people are feared trapped under the debris, which includes 43 from the Territorial Army, said officials. (Image: PTI)

Chief Minister N Biren Singh inspected the site of the massive landslide at Tupul and personally supervised the relief and rescue operations in the disaster hit area. The chief minister has also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each for those injured.
