On the second day of Chhath Puja called Kharna people observe fast. They do not eat anything or take water before sunset. Later on the same day, they cook thekua- a special prasad for Chhathi Maiya. (Source:ANI)
On the third day (Oct 30) called Sandhya Arghya, devotees make canopies by using sugarcane and place earthen pots in the shape of an elephant underneath it. They then lit diyas and offer prasad.
On Sunday, the fourth and last day, devotees will open their fast with ginger and water only after doing Usha Arghya (offering prayers to rising sun) after which the four-day-long Chhath Puja will conclude. (Source: ANI)
