French Woman Accuses LGBTQ Activist Divya Dureja Of Sexual Assault; Her Sister Requests Everyone To 'Hear Her Side Of Story'
LGBTQI activist Divya Dureja, who was arrested for allegedly assaulting a French woman at a resort in Goa, was released on bail last week. A 28-year-old French woman filed a complaint against Dureja at Pernem police station for allegedly drugging and assaulting her. According to a report in Indian Express, Divya has been admitted to a psychiatric facility in Delhi. She is currently undergoing treatment.

View In AppDureja was booked under Section 354 and Section 342 of the IPC after the victim registered her complaint. The victim accused the activist of keeping her locked in a room without consent and sexually assaulting her.
North Goa SP Utkrisht Prasoon, while talking to Indian Express, said that victim’s statement would be recorded before a court magistrate under Section 164 of the CrPC.
Dureja’s sister Jayati Dureja shared a long post on Instagram to request everyone to ‘hear her side of the story’. She said that her sister is unable to recognize anyone including their mother.
“My sister has been in a state of psychosis since the last few days. She has been unable to speak or recognise anyone, including her own mother. My sister is effectively comatose since last few days. She shows signs of deep physical and mental trauma, injuries & shows signs of probably being forcibly drugged & assaulted,” Jayati wrote in an Instagram post. (All PICS Credit: Instagram)
