Munawar Faruqui was born in Gujarat's Junagadh to a Gujarati Muslim family. Munawar left school after 5th class die to financial constraints in the family. He began working at a young age.

In April 2020, he uploaded a standup comedy video named 'Dawood, Yamraaj & Aurat' on his channel, post which he earned initial stardom. He also released his debut song 'Jawab' in collaboration with an Indian musician Spectra in August 2020.
Following their divorce in 2022, Mr. Faruqui and his ex-wife had a five-year-old kid. He is presently seeing Nazila Sitaishi, a social media personality.
He first gained notoriety in 2021 when, following accusations of offending religious feelings, he was jailed for a month after making comments about Hindu deities at a stand-up performance.
After receiving threats from right-wing organizations, the comic canceled 12 of his concerts in less than two months, causing anger and leading him to declare he would give up comedy.
Mr. Faruqui returned to television in 2022 with the reality series Lock Upp, in which contestants resided in a jail and carried out tasks to earn money while posing as inmates. Season one of the show was won by him.
