'Naatu Naatu' was filmed in Ukraine. The sequence was captured right in front of Ukrainian President Zelenskky's official residence. The Ukrainian President, a former television star, gave Rajamouli and his crew permission to film the song in front of the presidential palace.
Musician M. M. Keeravani noted that the song's beat is 6/8, which is more common in India and occasionally in Africa but is less prevalent in the West.
Apparently, there were close to 80 versions of the popular hook step. For the song, the actors shot 18 takes.
'RRR' marks the South debut of Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who played one of the female leads in the magnum opus epic drama.
Over the course of his 33-year career, Naatu Naatu's composer Keeravani has scored the music for 420 movies. For just that sequence, he composed 20 different tunes from which Rajamouli could select.
