View In AppOn being asked when will Karan and Kartik will work together, Karan replied, We did attempt to work together once in the past but that didn't materialise. But we are working together on something. Hopefully this will materialise.”
Kartik and Karan Johar were supposed to work on the sequel of 2008 film 'Dostana' starring John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Abhishek Bachchan.
Kartik said at the event, I'm so overwhelmed to be in Australia and I'm thankful to Mitu and to IFFM for inviting me here. The love from the Indian community has been both surprising and overwhelming. Never thought there would be so much love and fanfare for Indian cinema in Australia.
Karan said, This is my third time at IFFM. And I'm so grateful to the warmth and grace of the festival and everyone involved with it. I'm here joined by many fellow of the Indian film fraternity and I'm honoured to be amongst such impeccable talent.
The festival started with a press conference that was attended by a host of celebrities including Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Varma.
Addressing the media at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Rani shared: Maybe this is the first time I am making this revelation because in today's world every aspect of your life is discussed publicly, and becomes an agenda for talking about your film to get more eyeballs. Obviously, I didn't speak about this when I was promoting the film because it would have come across as me trying to speak about a personal experience that would propel the film. So, it was around the year when Covid-19 struck. It was 2020. I was pregnant with my second baby at the end of 2020 and I unfortunately lost my baby five months into my pregnancy.
The actress continued: After I lost my baby, Nikkhil (Advani) would have called me probably like 10 days later. He told me about the story and I kind of immediately… not that I had to have the loss of a child to feel the emotion but sometimes there is a film in the right time of what you are going through personally to be able for you to connect with it instantly. When I heard the story, I was in disbelief. (All Images: Instagram/@iffmelbourne)
