According to a report in Daily Mail, Derek Chauvin’s wife has filed for a divorce. The former beauty pageant winner ‘insisted in a bombshell court’ that she doesn’t any money from the former Minneapolis cop, who killed Floyd by kneeling on his neck.
The death of George Floyd, an African American man, has led to massive protests in the US. The 46-year-old passed away after a white police officer, Derek Chauvin, held him down and kneeled on his neck. Despite his pleas, Derek didn’t show any mercy. He was arrested and charged over the death of Floyd last week.
According to the report in the portal, Kellie split from her husband on May 28. She came to the US as a child refugee from Laos.
Kellie, who has two adult sons from another relationship, said that she doesn’t wish to have any financial assistance from Derek Chauvin. The 45-year-old, who is a realtor, stated that she is currently unemployed but doesn’t want ‘a penny’ from her husband of ten years.
Kellie Chauvin, who got married to Derek in 2010, said that she was seeking divorce from Derek due to 'irretrievable breakdown' of their relationship.
