2022 New Citroen C5 Aircross Facelift Offers Better Looks & Value With Ride Quality — Review In Pics
We are big fans of the Citroen C5 Aircross because of its ride quality, looks and being somewhat different from other SUVs out there. However, Citroen has updated the C5 Aircross and we also drove that. The new C5 for now has one fully loaded trim and that's priced at Rs 36.6 lakh - a big amount of money for sure. However, look beyond the price-tag and the C5 acts as a premium 5-seater SUV focused on comfort. (Photo: Somnath Chatterjee)

The new look front-end especially mixes well with the DRLs while the sharper bumper design, and bigger intakes are a successful design update. It is safe to say that the new C5 Aircross gets some attention on the road and looks unique- that is majorly the reason one might buy this SUV in the first place. (Photo: Somnath Chatterjee)
The side view continues to be the same but there was not much of a problem in the first place, to begin with, but the new 18-inch alloy wheels are a nice touch. While the overall rear styling is the same, there are new tail lamps now. . (Photo: Somnath Chatterjee)
The interior looks way better now and more modern while there is a new centre console with a larger 10-inch touchscreen, new controls below along with a new gear shifter plus drive mode buttons. (Photo: Somnath Chatterjee)
Quality is terrific with soft touch inserts reminding you that it is a proper luxury SUV along with a crisp European vibe with a darker upholstery colour. Even the digital instrument cluster has a new look. (Photo: Somnath Chatterjee)
Feature-wise you get a big panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, hands-free tailgate and more. What has not changed is the rear seat comfort and the seats itself in terms of being perfectly cushioned plus a huge 580l boot. (Photo: Somnath Chatterjee)
We would have liked some kind of hybrid or petrol on offer but the C5 continues to be having the 177 bhp 2.0l diesel with an 8-speed automatic. The sound insulation makes the C5 a quiet SUV and the diesel is audible only when driven hard-else it is smooth and easy to drive. (Photo: Somnath Chatterjee)
There is enough torque while the 8-speed automatic (along with superb paddle shifters) makes it a comfortable SUV to drive every day. What has not changed is the ride comfort over bad roads and the suspension which is amongst the best in class in terms of going over bad roads with ease. (Photo: Somnath Chatterjee)
The new C5 Aircross is expensive but it does offer style, looks and a comfortable driving experience along with being different from other SUVs. Compared to the earlier one, this is better looking and better value in terms of the new interior while still being the best SUV to buy in terms of ride quality- something for which buyers should consider this. What we like - Looks, quality, comfort, interior.
What we do not - No petrol engine, price. (Photo: Somnath Chatterjee)
