Yoga Class In UK Mistaken To Be 'Ritual Mass Murder', 5 Police Cars Reach Spot After Calls
After seeing seven people lying on the ground in a dimly lit room, a couple of dog walkers were concerned and called the police immediately. However, it turned out to be a Yoga class.
A Yoga class was mistaken to be a “ritual mass killing” inside the Seascape Cafe in the North Sea Observatory in the UK's Lincolnshire. A couple of dog walkers found it unusual and concerning to see a group of seven people lying absolutely still while one person was walking around playing Shamanic drum in a dimly lit room. They immediately called the police and five cars reached the spot. However, the class was over by then and the participants were headed home.
Millie Laws, the 22-year-old Yoga teacher told the BBC that she had seen people peering in through the wide windows during the ‘Shavasana’ – where a yogi has to lay flat on the ground. However, she didn’t pay much heed to it. The students were in a dark room which was only lit by candles and tea lights for the Yoga session.
Later, she found out that members of the public had called the police claiming that there was a mass murder, the murderer was walking around them, and that it looked like some kind of ritual. The people who called the police said that those lying on the ground were dead, reported BBC.
Lincolnshire police told the media that the call was made with “good intentions”.
The cafe talked about the whole situation in a Facebook post where it also thanked the police for their prompt response.
They posted on Facebook: "If anyone heard the mass of police sirens in Chapel St Leonards at 9:30 PM last night then please be reassured. They were on their way to the Observatory after someone had reported a mass killing in our building, having seen several people laying on the floor... which actually turned out to be the yoga class in meditation.”
"Thank you to Lincolnshire Police for their prompt response. I can't imagine for one moment what would have been going through their minds on the way.”, Seascape Cafe further added.
"We are not part of any mad cult or crazy clubs. All in all, this situation turned out positive and we are of course grateful."
