Running in high heels can be challenging for anybody as it can hurt the feet, legs and lower back. But for Christian Roberto López Rodríguez it does not seem to be a matter of concern as the 34-year-old man from Spain smashed the 100-metre sprint record while wearing high heels.
According to Guinness World Records, Christian clocked a time of 12.82 seconds, which is only 3.24 seconds slower than Usain Bolt's 100-metre sprint world record!The record was previously held by Germany's André Ortolf, who achieved a time of 14.02 seconds in 2019.

Stilettos hugely limits a runner’s stability and speed but Christian managed to complete his superlative sprint without toppling down.
While attempting this record, the heels must be at least 7 cm (2.76 in) high and no more than 1.5 cm (0.59 in) wide at the tip, meaning platform shoes are not permitted, the GWR website wrote.
Guinness World Records (GWR) took to Instagram to share a video of the world record and wrote, "Fastest 100 metres in high heels (male). 12.82 secs by Christian Roberto López Rodríguez."
Christian, who has a total of 57 world record titles to his name said that preparation for the event was "very exhaustive and specific".
"The preparation was very exhaustive and specific. I find it very challenging to be able to run in high heels at high speed. In Spain, there are races like this, and they have always gone well for me," said Christian to GWR.
Since being shared, the post has amassed more than 5 lakh views and tons of comments.
"I’m surprised a woman doesn’t hold this record," commented one user on the post.
"When playing in your mom’s heels as a kid pays off," wrote another user jokingly. While another wrote "This is a record I want to break."
