In an effort to resolve the recent violence that engulfed the north-eastern state of Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday gave support to afflicted individuals and promised pre-fabricated homes for housing, news agency ANI reported.
Speaking with media, Manipur CM stated: "I visited some relief camps and people are suffering...State Govt is going to construct pre-fabricated houses to accommodate them temporarily. Around 3000-4000 houses will be constructed...We are looking for the place where the construction can be done."
According to official data, about 47,000 people have been evacuated in the violence-torn scenario, and hundreds of individuals have lost their houses, which have been destroyed by the violence.
Biren Singh informed the people that the state government will stand shoulder to shoulder with them and begin building homes.
Earlier today, legislators from violence-hit Manipur met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Both were informed about the latest situation in the state. Currently, 28 MLAs of Manipur BJP are present in Delhi.

On May 3, Manipur was engulfed in violence when fights erupted at a rally sponsored by the All Tribals Students Union (ATSU) to oppose the inclusion of the Meitei group in the Scheduled Tribes.
The state has been gripped by ethnic violence for more than a month, after a High Court ruling urging the state administration to consider placing the Meitei group on the list of Scheduled Tribes (STs).
Central paramilitary troops were stationed in the state to quell the unrest, and they are currently stationed across the state.
Meanwhile, representatives from both the Kuki and Naga communities, including members of both legislative assemblies, have travelled to Delhi and met with key BJP leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah, to voice their concerns and demands.
