New Delhi: The Ramayan sequence from the film 'Swades', starring Shah Rukh Khan and Gayatri Joshi, has gone viral amid the negative reviews over Prabhas' 'Adipurush'. Although the film broke box office records on Day 1, the internet remains divided on the movie. The movie based on the Hindu epic Ramayana has drawn criticism for its poor VFX and inappropriate dialogues.

Meanwhile, a movie clip from Ashutosh Gowariker's flick is being praised by social media users and deemed better than 'Adipurush'. In the brief clip, Shah Rukh Khan may be seen acting out the epic and singing for the villagers in a Ram Leela sequence.

Here is what fans have to say:

The review of the film on ABP Live reads: In Hindi cinema, mythology-inspired films are all the rage because of the makers' thirst for ancient fables that can be tailored for the screen today. Om Raut, of 'Tanhaji' fame, took an interest in the genre and made an effort to present a fresh interpretation of the Ramayana. Just like a dish could be described in flowery language on the menu and then, to one's dismay, arrive at the table with only a meagre hint of flavour; the same goes for 'Adipurush'.

Following a controversy over its dialogue, which included the mention of Sita as "India's daughter," all Hindi films—including 'Adipurush'—were banned on Monday in Pokhara and Kathmandu, Nepal.

Meanwhile, 'Adipurush' earned Rs 300 crore worldwide in its first weekend alone with a day three box office take of Rs 65 crore (net) on Sunday.

'Adipurush' is a mythical film based on the Ramayana by Valmiki, and it was written and directed by Om Raut. Prabhas portrays Lord Ram in the movie, while Kriti Sanon plays Sita and Saif Ali Khan plays Raavan. In the movie, they each portray the characters Raghava, Janaki, and Lankesh.
