The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), led by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, will attend the inauguration of the new Parliament building in Delhi on May 28. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament in the national capital on Sunday.
Earlier, in a tweet, Vijayasai Reddy said, "The new building is a depiction of an India that is modern, self-reliant, and proud. We finally have a building that is made to serve as the Parliament of a democratic country," he tweeted.
On Tuesday, the Central Government sanctioned the biggest-ever release of funds of Rs 10,460.87 crore to Andhra Pradesh as compensation towards its revenue deficit since its bifurcation in June 2014. The funds have been released as part of dues under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
Vijayasai Reddy said that CM Jagan's persistent effort paid off in the form of the Central government releasing Rs 10,460.87 crore as compensation for the revenue deficit of 2014-15. YSRCP will ensure that gradually all promises related to the AP Reorganisation Act are fulfilled, he added.
Meanwhile, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MP K Keshava Rao announced Wednesday that the party has yet to make a decision on whether to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building in Delhi on May 28. Speaking to the news agency ANI, Rao stated, "We have not taken any decision yet, we are yet to take a call. It is unlikely that we will attend, but we'll announce our decision tomorrow."
