'US President spends most of his time watching TV, on Twitter,' Trump's leaked schedule reveals

As a president, sixty per cent of Trump's work life is categorised as "executive time," meaning unstructured time to make phone calls, read newspapers, tweet and watch television, the report said.

New Delhi: US President Donald Trump starts his typical day late and spends most of it watching TV, browsing newspapers and on micro-blogging website Twitter, a  media report said, basing the claims on Trump’s confidential schedule that got leaked recently. The leak reveals that the President has an apparently easy schedule. As per news agency AFP, the weekend report on news site axios.com revealed the details of the leak. This angered the White House, which however did not deny the details of what, apparently was a rather easy day at the office for the world’s most powerful man. Most days, Trump has no official work before 11:00 am, according to the daily guidance given to the media by the press office. That usually begins with the president receiving his intelligence briefing, AFP reported. However, as per the detailed private schedule published by the Axios, things don’t get much hectic even after that for Trump. As a president, sixty per cent of his work life is categorised as "executive time," meaning unstructured time to make phone calls, read newspapers, tweet and watch television, the report said. Trump’s personal secretary Madeleine Westerhout lashed out at the report and said that it does not show the hundreds of phone calls and meeting that Trump has to attend every day. “What a disgraceful breach of trust to leak schedules. What these don’t show are the hundreds of calls and meetings @realDonaldTrump takes every day. This POTUS is working harder for the American people than anyone in recent history,” she tweeted. On Monday, the official schedule released by the press office showed usual schedule. Trump, who spent the weekend at his Florida golf club, was due to have his intelligence briefing at 11:45, followed by lunch with Vice President Mike Pence at 12:45. No other events were listed.
