US Presidential Elections: As the democrat candidate  Joe Biden gets closer to the 270 electoral votes mark for winning the presidency, the US President Donald Trump has ramped up his attack on Biden and raised questions about the election process. In a series of tweets, Trump questioned how his lead in many states suddenly disappeared and has also threatened with legal proceedings if Biden 'wrongfully claims the office of the President'.

Trump has been making unsupported allegations of electoral misconduct ever since he lost his lead in several states. He has insisted the ongoing vote count of ballots submitted before and on Election Day must cease. And in his first public appearance since late on Election Night, he amplified the conspiracy theories amid the trappings of presidential power.

“This is a case when they are trying to steal an election, they are trying to rig an election,” said Trump of Democrats, whom he accused of corruption while providing no evidence.

Trump had also filed a lawsuit in Michigan and Georgia alleging that the election was rigged. His campaign demanded better access for campaign observers to locations where ballots are being processed and counted. But both lawsuits were dismissed.
