New Delhi: Amid the ongoing tension regarding between Ukraine and Russia, US President Joe Biden made clear his stance on the issue. He said that if Moscow undertook a further invasion of Kiev, then Washington along with its allies would respond “decisively” and would impose a swift and severe costs on the country, stated a statement by the White House.


Biden spoke to Russian President Vladmir Putin about Russia’s escalating military buildup on the borders of Ukraine, reports news agency ANI. 


 






"President Biden was clear that, if Russia undertakes a further invasion of Ukraine, the United States together with our Allies and partners will respond decisively and impose swift and severe costs on Russia," the statement read on Saturday (local time).

The statement further said that Biden reiterated that further escalation of Russia on Ukraine would result in widespread human suffering and diminished standing of Russia. "President Biden was clear with President Putin that while the United States remains prepared to engage in diplomacy, in full coordination with our Allies and partners, we are equally prepared for other scenarios," the statement read.
