New Delhi: On Monday night, the US President Donald Trump returned to the White House after spending four days at a military hospital. The President and the first lady Melania Trump had tested positive for the coronavirus on October 2nd, Friday.


He was discharged from the Walter Reed National Medical Center after doctors treating him found that he was fit.

"It's been more than 72 hours since his last fever. Oxygen levels, including ambulatory saturations and his work of breathing or all normal though. He may not entirely be out of the woods, yet the team and I agree that all our evaluations and most importantly, his clinical status support the president's safe return home, where he'll be surrounded by world-class medical care 24 seven," said Dr. Sean Conley, White House physician in a report by PTI.

According to Dr. Brian Garibaldi, director of Johns Hopkins Biocontainment Unit Trump has been given the antiviral drug remdesivir and the steroid, dexamethasone. He currently has no respiratory complaints. The report by PTI also said that once the president reached the White House, he took off his mask and stood in the portico facing South Lawns for a few minutes and saluted Marine One.

Soon after reaching the White House, he also sent mass emails to his supporters telling them to not be afraid of Covid -19 and not let it dominate their life.
'I'm telling you: Don't be afraid of COVID. Don't let it dominate your life! This is the greatest country in the world and under the Trump Administration, we have developed some really great drugs and knowledge. WE WILL BEAT THIS, TOGETHER!,' said Trump in the email.

The President has also indicated that he will soon be back in his campaign trail.


The President and the first lady underwent the Covid- 19 test after a close aide Hope Hicks tested positive for the virus. Trump had also confirmed it via a tweet. Hicks, who serves as counselor to Trump is a constant companion of the President.

US President Donald Trump had also released a video on Saturday to give an update about his health after testing positive for the virus.
