Taiwanese 'Bikini Climber', famous for posing in bikini on mountain tops, freezes to death after fall

New Delhi: Popular on social media as ‘Bikini Climber’, a famed female Taiwanese hiker, froze to death after she fell from a high point on a mountain.
As per reports, Gigi Wu, a popular female hiker, famous for her selfies on top of mountain peaks clad in a bikini, has died from suspected hypothermia after a fall in Nantou Country of Taiwan’s Yushan national park.
Reports said that the rescue teams of Taiwan were trying to retrieve her body.
Before dying, Gigi Wu used a satellite phone to tell her friends and followers that she had fallen down a ravine in Yushan national park and had injured herself terribly.
Reports said that Wu who had been injured badly after she fell off some 20-30 metres, could not move her lower body but she managed to give her coordinates to her friends.
Due the rough weather conditions, the rescue helicopters faced hurdles in locating her body, but finally found it on Monday.
As per reports, the rescuers have been asked to move the body to a more open space and after the weather clears helicopter would be sent to bring the body.
36-year-old Wu had built a large base of followers by her unique style of taking selfies at the top of mountain peaks wearing bikini. She would climb the terrain in normal hiking clothes and once she would complete her climb and reach the peak, she would change into a bikini.
In an interview with local channel FTV last year, she said she had scaled more than 100 peaks in four years.
