Taiwan Kite Festival: The child was in the air for about 30 seconds before she was brought down to the ground
Taiwan: In a miraculous incident, a three-year-old girl has been captured entangled in a kite, and swept by the wind higher into the sky in Taiwan during the international kite festival 2020 escaped with minor injuries. The incident took place during the international kite festival held in the city of Hsinchu, south of the capital Taipei. The video the accident went viral on social media showing the toddler entangled in the tail of a giant kite and flying high into the air. In the video, people are seen enjoying the kite festival when the strong winds gushed the kite higher in the sky in which the child is seen entangled tossing her right to left in the sky.
The organizers prepared the orange kite to fly in the sky and let it go along with a toddler dangling from its tail. However, the closeness of the child to the kite is still not known and how she was suddenly got caught in it.
The video captures the crowd screaming as the child moves up in the air and swung about wildly by the kite and wind. The child remained in the sky for almost 30 seconds before the kite was pulled low enough for audience members to grab and release her.
Soon after the child landed, she was taken to the hospital with her mother and staff. She has suffered minor injuries with abrasions to her face and neck as per Taiwan's government-run Central News Agency. She was discharged went home with the family. Later Mayor Lin Chih-chien took to social media and apologized for the incident while suspending the festival immediately to ensure attendees' safety. On the day of the festival, the wind was strong reaching a 7 on the Beaufort Scale -- meaning wind speeds ranged from 32 to 38 miles per hour (50 to 61 kilometers per hour), according to CNA.An accident happened during The #Kite #Festival in #Xinchu, #Taiwan.
