New Delhi: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, on Wednesday, met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed-bin-Salman and had a detailed discussion on Jammu and Kashmir, and also on bilateral relations between New Delhi and Riyadh.

In the 2-hour-long meeting, the Crown Prince expressed understanding of India’s position on Jammu and Kashmir. The two leaders discussed wide range of issues on various aspects of bilateral relations.

As per reports, the issue of Jammu and Kashmir also figured in the discussion.  Saudi Crown Prince expressed understanding about India’s approach and actions in Jammu and Kashmir.

Ajit Doval’s visit is designed to counter Pakistan’s move of traveling to Saudi Arabia to seek support on its side on Kashmir issue.



The visit is expected to further strengthen the deep bonds between the two countries and help identify specific areas of cooperation at a time when Saudi Arabia is looking to diversify its economy in line with MBS’ vision 2030.

India shares a close relation with Saudi Arabia as well as United Arab Emirates, that includes intelligence sharing.

Doval also met with Saudi Rabia’s Nationa Secuirty Advisor Musaid Al Aiban, who chairs the council of political and security affairs of Saudi Arabia.

Doval is also expected to meet with other top officials of the country.
