New Delhi: US President Joe Biden said on Thursday that the threat of a Russian invasion of Ukraine was possible in "next several days" but he had no plans to call President Vladimir Putin, AFP reported.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Biden said the the threat of a Russian attack on Ukraine was "very high".
"The threat is very high, because they have not moved any of their troops out. They've moved more troops in. We have reason to believe they're engaged in a false flag operation to have an excuse to go in," AFP quoted Biden as saying.

"Every indication we have is that they're prepared to go into Ukraine, attack Ukraine. My sense is it will happen in the next several days," he further said.
The US has warned that Russia had added as many as 7,000 troops near Ukraine's borders.
The Russian Foreign Ministry, however, said that it had no plans to invade Ukraine. "There is no 'Russian invasion' of Ukraine, which the United States and its allies have been announcing officially since last fall, and it is not planned," the Foreign Ministry said in a public statement.
Tensions escalated this week between Moscow and the NATO countries over Russia's increasing military build-up close to the Ukrainian border.
The US has already sent extra troops to Europe to support its allies in the backdrop of fears of a Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russia has been denying that it plans to invade Ukraine. It withdrew some of its forces from the border on Tuesday.
