R Kelly remains in jail on sexual abuse charges; lawyers says "singer not wealthy, cannot afford $100,000 bail'

New Delhi: Popular R& B singer R Kelly who remains in jail as his aides fail to manage the $100,000 bail set by the court to free him.
Kelly, a Grammy winning singers, remains in jail waiting for his trial in the aggravated sexual abuse case.
As per reports, Kelly was stored in the division eight of the 7,000-inmate county jail, where the medical unit is located. It is where the prisoners who are considered to be at risk from the general prisoners are kept.
On Saturday, a judge set the bond to free Kelly at $1 million, requiring the singer to pay 10% of the amount and also Kelly will be released with a condition of not having contact with females less than 18 years of age.
Defense attorney Steve Greenberg argued that despite a number of hits, Kelly was not wealthy, because of mismanagement, bad contracts and other issues.
Kelly was charged with ten counts of aggravated sexual abuse on Friday. Three of the ten counts, the abuse were with minors.
After he was convicted, the attorney said Kelly did not force anyone to have sex. He said because, he’s a rock star, he doesn’t have to have non-consensual sex.
Kelly has been accused of holding underage girls as virtual slaves, over the years. He has denied.
As per reports, Kelly’s sentence can go up to 70 years.
Lawyer Michael Avenatti who is representing one of the victims of Kelly said he will be turning over a second video to Cook County prosecutors that shows Kelly assaulting minor.
