Pakistan Army suffered three casualties in a gunfight with terrorists on Tuesday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of the country, IANS reported.
The military said that three soldiers were killed in an encounter with militants in Dera Ismail Khan district. Three terrorists were also killed in the operation, the Pakistani military said.
The terrorists fired on a police check post in the Khutti area of Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military.

During the exchange of fire, Havaldar Muhammad Azhar Iqbal, 42, a resident of Lodhran, Naik Muhammad Asad, 34, a resident of Khanewal and Sepoy Muhammad Essa who was 22-years-old and a resident of South Waziristan, lost their lives.
The fleeing terrorists were intercepted and three of them were killed after an intense exchange of fire, the ISPR added. The security forces immediately cordoned off the area, blocking all possible escape routes. The military also recovered arms and ammunition from the terrorists who were killed during the ambush.
A similar incident took place on Tuesday night, where a high-ranking officer of Pakistan's spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), was killed along with his driver when "hard core terrorists" ambushed his vehicle in the country's northwest, security officials and police said. Seven soldiers were also injured during the fight, the ISPR said.
The ISPR said that brigadier Burki and his team “put up a valiant resistance” against the terrorists during the encounter and the officer sacrificed his life.
The law and order situation in Pakistan has worsened over the past few months with terror groups carrying out attacks across the country.
