New Delhi: Amid a probable arrest of Pakistan’s ex-Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf chief Imran Khan after being booked under anti-terror act, his party has urged its members to take to streets to protest against the likely move against Khan, reported news agency ANI. The PTI chief was booked under in a terrorism case on the complaint of Islamabad Saddar Magistrate Ali Javed for allegedly threatening the additional sessions judge of the federal capital, reported the news agency citing a report by the Express Tribune. 


Further, senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has asked party workers to reach the former PM’s Bani Gala residence. 


While speaking to the media, PTI vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, told the party workers to remain prepared and wait for the party’s call for protest in case Imran Khan gets arrested. 


As per the ANI report, routes heading towards the Bani Gala residence of ousted PM Imran Khan has been blocked by the police and unauthorised persons have been banned from travelling through the routes.

Citing a report by ARY News, the news agency reported that barbed wires have been installed by the police in order to seal the routes while heavy contingents of the Frontier Cops (FC) were deployed and the street lights of Imran Khan Chowk were turned off. 


Khan’s case surfaced hours after Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Sunday said that the government was mulling to file a case against 69-year-old former PM over his provocative speech delivered on Saturday night in the F-9 Park of the national capital.

Earlier at a press conference, Interior Minister Sanaullah said that the government was holding legal consultations before launching any case against Khan. He alleged that Khan's speech was a continuation of a trend to target the army and other institutions.


Following his provocative speech on Saturday night, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) banned satellite television channels from broadcasting Khan’s live speeches.
