New Delhi: Imran Khan the PM -in -waiting of Pakistan, who just stormed to a landslide victory in Pakistan elections, is receiving wishes from eminent cricketers across the globe. The cricket fraternity is pouring in good wishes for the second innings of former Pakistani skipper and is showing trust in his leadership. Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly congratulated Khan, who is poised to become his country's prime minister after more than two decades of political struggle. "Congratulations to him. He has been fighting for a long time and now he is set to become the prime minister of Pakistan," the Cricket Association of Bengal president said at its annual awards ceremony, PTI reported. Former West Indies cricketer Ian Bishop sent his felicitations via Twitter and wrote that he felt proud to know an “outstanding former player could achieve such an important role in leading one's country”. Retweeting Imran Khan’s first wife Jemima Goldsmith’s tweet on his victory, Ex-England Captain Michael Vaughan wrote “Great News”. Even Geoffrey Boycott reacted to Jemima’s tweet and hailed Imran as a great captain, a great cricketer and a great man. Former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjarekar also poured in his best wishes for Khan. Former Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja also tweeted lauding Khan for his accomplishments.
